ABSTRACT

Determining the maximum depth and diameter of oil and gas wells before they are drilled, preventing open fountains, etc. definition of initial stresses in rocks is of great theoretical and practical importance. Since the rocks are porous, the relationship between stresses and deformations is non-linear. In the considered work, initial stresses in non-linear elastic rocks have been determined taking into account linearity and porosity. The possibility of applying the Morris-Levy theorem to the generalized quasi-plane deformation state for linear elastic bodies has been shown.

Keywords: initial stresses, rock, linear elastic body, gravity, Young's modulus, incompressible ideal fluid, porous rock.
